Made during an intense period of work just after moving into a new studio in Scotland, these paintings are Gent's most honest and personal to date, incorporating references to his peripatetic life, his family, his dreams and his fantasies. They are painted in a direct and evocative expressionist style that reflects the raw honesty of their subject matter.
